The 8 meter-long stained glass in Thon-Samson was the result of the first prize we had won for “ Les Plus Beaux Villages de Wallonie”, subsidised by Walloon provinces and the French Community Government. The theme was Water, Rivers and Valleys in the beautiful Walloon provinces in the south of Belgium.
We realised stained glass to be soldered in an iron frame made by the Belgian artist Joran Pollet, from Ostend. Then fixed it to the ancient stone wall near the church of the village of Thon-Samson, and near a very old tree, which branches were like the continuation of the stained glass.
Another particularity, unique in the world of art, was that I decided to fix some mirrors on the wall, behind the stained glass windows. This is a very important element because it changes the perspective of the passing spectator constantly. The latter sees a moving scenery going on behind the fixed stained glass! The spectator becomes actor: he changes light, colours and meaning just by moving a little bit. Fantastic!
